Abu Dhabi is set to open the UAE’s first hybrid heliport at the Abu Dhabi Cruise Terminal, approved by the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA). This facility will support both helicopters and electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft, advancing air taxi services in the UAE. The project includes charging stations, upgraded landing pads, and modern safety systems. The GCAA’s new regulations for hybrid infrastructure are set to be finalized by July 2025. This development integrates aerial mobility with the city’s transport and tourism hubs.
